venice 20/09- 23/09

im so not used to the cold weather here.when i cook,i hv to throw on a jacket because the kitchen windows will be opened to ventilate the place.and when i take hot baths,i want to stay in there forever,afraid to step out to get my towel in the cold.so we were in venice for the weekend.maybe it was colder there cuz we were by the waters.also, we stayed at some campsite.so without the bustle of the city,the place is colder(?).

venice is pretty small,im guessing it's smaller than singapore.BUT,we got lost ALL three days.it was somehow impossible to maneuver through all the small alleys.but we were warned by lonely planet so...all i can say is,my poor feet!after walking forever!!!we FINALLY found the main venues of the venice biennale.

this was definitely one of the highlights of the trip because we wouldnt have anything else to do for the next 3 days.we also went to gallerie dell' accademia and collezione peggy guggenheim where i saw my first original picasso!err, it was called half of man in stripes(?).i also saw the poet!which was totally thrilling for me : ) of course it was also thrilling to see the originals of mondrian,rothko,miro,kandinsky,etc but nothing was more amazing than the fact that one peggy guggenheim owned all that!

just other randoms at venice...

lake como

so our mission was to spot george clooney since he owns a place on lake como but the closest to a george clooney sighting was a possible private yatch or a possible private jet.

found a beautiful spot for picnic and a nice sun bath while lydia waded in the lake with the ducks

then we headed for bellagio!
(madanglu-ers, this is where our favourite taiwanese restaurant in shanghai got its name from!i think...)
it's the little touristy town over looking lake como. this lake beats the 西湖 we saw in 杭州 anytime.hee.


como was nice and slow, good for retirement and when u become a movie star and can afford to buy a place by the lake, and make silly young girls spend extra money on weekend trips hoping to bump into you.

milano!

the duomo, it really looks amazing, will try to get a better picture another time,
my camera died when we went back to take another shot.

then i had a pastrami with cheeze sandwich and cappuccino!
and f wanted to order a caffe macchiato at first but i warned him it was going to be strong (cuz he didnt realise) hee. i saved ur life!

then it was this fountain thing after shopping at h&m, it looked kinda nice
and there were lots of pigeons and couples sitting around it.

then there was this bag shop named pam!and of course there was zara men : )

and we had gelato...

and there was this small little area where this building was at
with only couples sitting around smooching each other...
with the mayor (?) watching over them, strange...
so i spent alot of money and wont go back to milan in the next month!

alora, i finally have internet connection

this is my school, f and i are guessing it was some kind of mine before
but we're not sure.

this was on the wall together with alot of other graffiti on our way to the supermarket

i walked into my room and found that annelore
(my belgian roommate) brought back the cart from the supermarket and
there was STILL space to walk comfortably around our bathroom : )
